2 Magnitude 4.3 Earthquakes Recorded on September 3, 2011

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake shook Eastern Samar on Saturday night. Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake was recorded at 6:08 PM with epicenter at 159 km northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar. It was tectonic in origin.

It was also felt in Tacloban City (Intensity III); Borongan,Can-avid, General MacArthur, Guiuan, and Oras, Eastern Samar (Intensity II); and San Policarpo, Eastern Samar (Intesity I).

It happened on the same day another magnitude 4.3 earthquake was recorded at 8:40 AM with epicenter at Talacogon in Agusan del Sur. It was also tectonic in origin.

It was felt in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur (Intensity II) and Bayugan, Agusan del Sur (Intensity I).
