2011 MTV VMAs List of Winners

Katy Perry took home the Video of the Year award for Firework at the recent 2011 MTV Video Music Awards which took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last Sunday, August 28 ET/PT. She also won Best Special Effects and Best Collaboration (with Kanye West) for E.T.

Katy tied with Adele who also won three awards including Best Editing, Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography for Rolling in the Deep.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga won the Best Female Video and Best Video with a Message for Born This Way.

Katy Perry Wears Smurfette to "The Smurfs" Premiere

Katy Perry attended the Sunday premiere of The Smurfs in New York wearing a little white dress with a sequined Smurfette attached to the front. She also had her nails painted with the cartoon characters. Katy did the voice of Smurfette in the movie.

Katy Perry recently made headlines when she made a history with Billboard for having five number one songs in a single album (click here for the related article). Her latest hit single is Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) from her album Teenage Dream.

Meanwhile, The Smurfs is showing in Philippine theaters on August 10. The movie will be available in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.

Katy Perry Makes Billboard History with 5 Number 1s in the Same Album

Katy Perry's album Teenage Dream is making a billboard record as Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) became the album's fifth song to make it to the top of the charts. And if the song gets on top of the Top 100 later this week, it will be the only album to have five (5) number ones. Michael Jackson's 1987 album Bad generated much top singles but it was released before Billboard even started issuing song charts.

Before Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) reached number 1, Katy Perry was tied with Lady Gaga's The Fame and Justin Timberlake's Future Sex/Love Sounds for having four number 1 songs in a single album.

Aside from being the fifth number one in the same album, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) is also Katy Perry's seventh (7th) number 1 overall. She's now tied with Lady Gaga for having the second most number ones. Rihanna currently holds the record with eight (8).

Katy Perry Hairstyles

Katy Perry appears to have fashion by the tail at this point, and along with it she seems to almost always be donning a sensationally dazzling hairstyle, sometimes cute and formal and other times sassy and retro. Regardless of the style, everything seems to fit her like a glove, perhaps due to her extremely photogenic facial structure.


This cute little medium length hairstyle is uber sexy on Ms. Perry, with beautiful curls on the end, this kinda reminds of an old school trend from the late 1950s. And boy does she know how to wear it!


Now this is an interesting choice of hairstyle, which reminds us of a punk rocker meets country music star, meets retro burlesque dancer... Katy is probably the only woman in show business who could wear this style and not look absolutely ridiculous.


Ah yes, one of our personal favorite hairstyles of Ms. Perry, the short sleek and very edgy bob hairdo with long bangs. She is nothing short of stunning with this little firecracker hairdo.


We also love it when Katy lets her hair down and revels that gorgeous long flowing thick black hair, and once again we see her donning those darling bangs that we love so much.


This style is very similar to the look above, however her hair is a bit more scattered and her bangs are nicely side swept to the right, which is also a good look for the stunning singer.
