"Protégé: The Battle for the Big Break" Teasers [Videos]

GMA-7's newest singing reality show, is set to air this September. Titled Protégé: The Battle for the Big Break, the reality show boasts of the ten Philippine music icons who will mentor their respective protégés. These protégés were chosen during the various auditions they held at the key provinces of the Philippines.

The ten music icons/celebrity mentors are Janno Gibbs, Jaya, Jay-R, Rachelle Ann Go, Aiza Seguerra, Joey Generoso of SIDE A, Imelda Papin, Claire dela Fuente, Rey Valera and Gloc 9.

Ogie Alcasid, who is excited for his firstborn with the Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, will be the Journey Host of the show, while Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado are the Gala Presenters.

"Futbolilits" Coming This July

With the booming popularity of football here in the Philippines comes a fantasy-drama series that would make it even more popular. Said to replace Magic Palayok which is ending soon, GMA-7 teams up Raymart Santiago and Jennylyn Mercado for Fubolilits.

The series also stars Nova Villa, Paolo Contis, Angelika dela Cruz, Daniel Matsunaga, Benjie Paras and Mosang, with Yogo Singh, Renz Valerio, Isabel Frial, Julian Trono, Iking Magundayao, JM Reyes, Gabriel Roxas.

Coming this July 2011, this Mike Tuviera-directed series is written by Aloy Adlawan, Kit Villanueva-Langit, AA Nadela, and Maribel Ilag.

Jennylyn Mercado Teams Up With Raymart Santiago in a New TV Series

Jennylyn Mercado and Raymart Santiago will be working together in an upcoming primetime series on GMA-7 that is said to take the timeslot of Magic Palayok which is ending soon.

Jennylyn, who is lately being seen with the Kapamilya star Luis Manzano and who is also having relationship problems with her biological mother, was last seen in the afternoon soap Little Star. Raymart's last project on GMA-7, on the other hand, was Bantatay.

The new teleserye has a working title of Footbulilits, the story of which revolves around a group of kids with a common interest in the game of football. Raymart Santiago will play the role of the coach.

This series is also said to have Ehra Madrigal in a short role of Raymart's wife who will die in the early part of the story.

Dingdong Dantes To Host a New GMA-7 Talent Search

GMA-7 is coming up with a new talent search show to replace StarStruck which ran for five seasons. The new show has a working title of The Protègè and will be hosted by Dingdong Dantes.

StarStruck has produced such talents as Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Aljur Abrenica, and Kris Bernal. The last pair who won the search was Steven Silva and Sarah Lahbati.

The Protègè is set to be shown later this year.

Mark Herras to Go Sexy

Mark Herras is now working-out in preparation for more daring roles. Mark reportedly thought that there should be something new in his showbiz career, and doing mature roles (read: sexy scenes) is one of them. Although he still has some limitations on going sexy. He doesn't want to go "all the way" because he's still too young for it.

And even if he can just easily go "under the knife" to enhance his body, he'd rather go to the gym and work hard to become fit.

His original loveteam Jennylyn Mercado will be his first leading lady in doing sexy. Jennylyn, who has just given birth to her child with Patrick Garcia, is currently on vacation in the US. Their "mature" projects will start when Jennylyn goes back to the country.
