Mario Maurer Fan Conference in Manila

Thai model and actor Mario Maurer will hold a fan conference in Manila next month as part of his endorsement of a local brand.

The 22-year-old half-German, half-Chinese's fan conference will be held at the PICC Plenary Hall on October 28, 2011. It will be sponsored by the local brand, Penshoppe, who has tapped the Thai superstar's services to be its next endorser.

I think the Pinoys will love Mario Maurer for Penshoppe even more than they loved Ed Westwick who is the current endorser of the brand. With his Asian good looks, I'm sure Mario will be closer to the hearts of Pinoys.

Mario Maurer Will Do a Movie With Star Cinema

Mario Maurer, who's quite fluent in English, will come to Manila not only for his Penshoppe endorsement but to do a movie with Star Cinema as well. The cute half-German, half-Chinese model/actor talked to E-Live recently and the taped interview was shown yesterday, August 6, 2011.

In the interview, Mario said he is aware that he has a fan base in the Philippines. He also gets to Twitter to connect to his fans not only in the Philippines but also in Korea and China.

And his impression on Filipina girls? "They're very cute, and they're very nice."

The Penshoppe Team Meets Mario Maurer

After Ed Westwick, Penshoppe has tapped the services of Mario Maurer, the Thai model and actor best known in the Philippines for the movies The Love of Siam and Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

The Penshoppe team is currently in Bangkok right now to meet with Mario Maurer and dress him up in the brand. The result was the above picture which they were so generous to post on Facebook.

Mario Maurer is the Next Penshoppe Endorser

After bringing Ed Westwick in the Philippines last month, Penshoppe is said to have tapped another good-looking, foreign actor to become its next endorser. But they didn't go all the way across the globe, because the next face of Penshoppe is just from Thailand.

Mario Maurer, who first became popular in the Philippines with the showing of The Love of Siam at the Cinemanila Film Festival a few years back will visit the country soon for his Penshoppe endorsement.

The 22-year-old actor became even more popular with Pinoys when ABS-CBN aired a Tagalized version of his teen flick, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, where he played the role of a high school student. It topped the TV ratings when it was aired.

Now that makes me wonder, is the Tagalized version of Mario's movie Penshoppe's move to make him more popular in the country before they fly him here? Or did they get the idea of signing Mario up for an endorsement when he became so popular due to that Tagalized movie version?

Neil Etheridge, the Philippine Azkals Goalkeeper, is the star of the new Cortal SQR television commercial showing us how hard their trainings are and what body pain they endure just to win and make us proud.

Also prominent in the TVC are the Azkals' Team Captain Aly Borromeo, Defender Anton Del Rosario, and Forward Ian Araneta.

After Bench released sexy photos and BTS video of the Philippine Rugby Team (Philippine Volcanoes) in their Bench Body undies, the top local brand posted in their Facebook page last Friday a sexy photo of the Philippine Azkals Team Captain Aly Borromeo also in a Bench Body underwear.

Aly Borromeo looks so sexy and confident showing his six packs (and more) clad in just a black Bench Body underwear.

It makes me wonder if the rest of the Azkals would also bare for the cameras. If that happens, will we have hunky athletes walking the runway in the next Bench denim and underwear show? Now, that sounds great!

Philippine Volcanoes Bare For Bench Body

Members of the Philippine rugby team The Volcanoes were tapped by Bench, one of the country's leading brands, to model for the Bench Body line of underwear. Since most of them were raised in "more liberated" countries, I'm sure they didn't need more prodding to bare their bodies for the camera.

In other countries, it has become a trend for some time now for famous football players to pose naked for calendars. They even sometimes do that for the benefit of some charitable institutions.

With the booming popularity of football in the Philippines comes the trend of the athletes posing naked for the cameras. I actually wonder why it hasn't become a trend with basketball players, when basketball is considered as the top sports in the land.

This Bench pictorial, though, can actually be described as wholesome if we would compare it to something like Dieux du Stade where famous rugby players go all out.
